I would like to take this opportunity to share superior DSP (Destination Service Provider) services from Kathy Gibler this past week in Monterrey…
Kathy met with me, Mike Herring and Pilar Dubuc Penney in Monterrey for lunch with the client (CEMEX) as a way to meet the local HR. She was incredibly impressive to Alejandro – her knowledge of Monterrey and the surrounding areas was immediately apparent.
The client asked Kathy to join us the following day for a brief presentation that we would incorporate into our presentation to approximately 13 HR from CEMEX. Kathy agreed to do this immediately despite the last minute request. She patiently waited while the client and our team presented … and when she was finally introduced as the local provider for the CEMEX Executives moving into/out of Monterrey, she was so incredibly articulate – she immediately captured the attention of 12 Latin men with her fluency and life experience as a child of an expat (in the Philippines) as well as her thorough knowledge of the CEMEX culture and unique needs of their executives. When an English speanking HR from Houston, TX entered the room, Kathy immediately switched to English and began to share examples of the work she has done for CEMEX executives, provided examples of how she ensures that rents don’t suddenly sky rocket when the landlord know that she is househunting for someone, how she researches any outstanding bills for the properties prior to the Executives moving into properties – she so “wow”ed the audience that they LITERALLY applauded her.
I have to tell you, I know she was fabulous from her work with Celestica and from the attention she has personally given me on each trip I’ve taken to Monterrey – but she truly did an outstanding job in our meeting.
Thank you Kathy!

Kathy,
Before I’m disconnected from the internet and have my home office/computers etc packed later today, I wanted to insure that you get this – our formal thank you from Linda and I. I can vividly remember in May 2003, you hosted us and toured Monterrey for the first time. Then we later relocated to Monterrey and you were extremely helpful with our animals, doctors, housing, negotiations, etc. You have gone out of your way to lessen the cultural frustrations and to help Linda and I make the transition. But then, you do the same for all the expats.
We can not thank you enough. You are a credit to your profession, to Cendant and to your family. Your Spanish fluency is remarkable and one of your greatest assets. Please continue to support the expatriate community, they all need you. Take care and may God bless you and your family.
My future assignment with Celestica will bring me back to Mexico frequently, so we will stay in touch with Celestica de Monterrey and our friends.
It’s not “adios”, it’s “ hasta luego”.

I want to take a few minutes during my last week in Monterrey to thank you for being such an important part of our excellent experience while living here in Mexico! Here is a brief chronology of our experience…
1. Don somehow found you on the WEB last September and within minutes of our first email and
conversation I felt we were in good hands and that we would find a place to call “home”.
2. In November I came for a 60 hour visit to Monterrey to take care of work business, Michelle’s school
and let’s not forget… find a place to live. But not just any place … a furnished place half way between
Tec de Monterrey and the American School, a place that we could lease for 5 ½ months, a place that
would feel like home but not isolated from the “Mexico” experience… and yes a place that had a
swimming pool in the backyard… and finally on a budget we could afford! And you and your assistant
Rosario found the perfect place for us. You worked through all the lease agreement information and
3. On January 1 at 10:00 PM when Michelle and I flew in from Washington D.C. to our new “home away
from home”, you were here to greet us! Amazing.
Most people would think that is where your help ended.. but no it didn’t. You helped us get our wireless internet service, provided a name for an orthodontist when Michelle broke her braces playing soccer during our fourth day in Mexico, helped us find a person w ho could cash an American check for us, and then followed up by checking to see how things were going for us.
Kathy, but what is really incredible is that as I’ve met other Americans who are here in Monterrey the 2nd thing that we all have in common is YOU and the wonderful service you have provided to all of us. Thank you so much for your
tireless, positive, helpful and fun energy that you put into all that you do for all of us… who are relocating either by choice or necessity… for either six months or six years.

I had a major problem regarding my bank account. My debit card was cloned and I had to go through the process to recover a large amount of money. The personnel at Monterrey Quality Relocation Services made sure I received this money. They were absolutely awesome...
